First of its kind Mobile Food Quality Testing Vehicle launched in Vizag

A first of its kind in the state, Mobile Food Quality Testing Vehicle was launched here in Visakhapatnam on Wednesday. Collector Pravin Kumar inaugurated the food testing vehicle.  

The vehicle was procured by the Divis Laboratories at a cost of 45 lakhs and handed over it to the government. The vehicle is going to be used to test the midday meals being served to the students studying in government schools. The Akshaya Patra Foundation has been serving midday meals to 23500 students in the district.

The Mobile Food Quality Testing Vehicle would test the quality of the raw materials as well as cooked food and gives grading to each item.

Speaking at the inaugural event collector has hailed the Divis Laboratories CSR activities for their kind gesture. The Mobile Food Vehicle would also be used to check the food in Nellore, Vijayawada and Kainada where the Akshaya Patra Foundation is serving midday Meal to the government school students.

Deputy General Manager of Divis Laboratories Y Koteswara Rao, Head, CSR activities of Divis Laboratories D Suresh Kumar and The Akshaya Patra Foundation chief Niskinchana Bhakta Dasa and other officials were also present at the event.
