Supreme Court Judge on Life, Liberty, Privacy and law

Lavu Nageswara Rao Judge of Supreme Court was here at Visakhapatnam on Saturday delivered speech on Prof. S.Vekata Raman Endowment Lecture-Life, Liberty, Privacy and Law at Andhra University.
 
He said that in the digital age, individuals may exercise the right to privacy by giving some part of information voluntarily but cannot be forced to do so. Right to privacy was accepted unanimously as being the part of right to liberty and right to life but when it came to compelling interests of the State it had to make way, he added.
 
All along his lecture he referred in length about various aspects on privacy, the developments in US, about the consultations of constitutional advisor to the Constituent Assembly B.N.Rao had with US Supreme court Judge Frankfurter and the developments relating to personal liberty and privacy in US and India.
 
AU Vice-Chancellor G.Nageswara Rao, Principal of Dr.B.R.Ambedkar College of Law, Andhra university, D.Surya Prakasa Rao and Registrar V.Uma Maheswara Rao spoke at the meeting.
