Single Desk Policy for Food Processing Industry Permissions

Andhra Pradesh Chambers of Commerce and Industry Federation along with Department of Food processing have conducted a seminar on food processing sector here on Saturday in Visakhapatnam. 

The seminar is aimed at facilitating MoUs on investments in the CII Partnership Summit going to be held next month. AP Chambers is aiming to get minimum 100 MoUs signed in the coming summit, and is all hands to assist interested people to start their projects’ as per the vision under the guidance of Government of Andhra Pradesh.  

Speaking at the Seminar AP Food Processing Society CEO Mr.YS Prasad said that through “Single Desk Policy’’ all the permissions required for setting up a food processing industry would be given in just 21 days by the government. According to the new GO passed the land allotment for the food processing industry would also be given in 21 days, he said. 

Initiatives about the food parks, facilities/subsidies available for the sector through the state and central governments to enable the entrepreneurs to know the latest development in the food processing sector were explained at the seminar today. 

Dignitaries, entrepreneurs belonging to the food processing sector, cold chain and logistics have attended the seminar today.

Andhra Pradesh is the first state in the country which has set up a special wing for food processing sector and granted funds worth 300 crore rupees. The State intends to be the most preferred destination for Food Processing Industry. The new Food Processing Policy aims to capitalize on the rich and diverse food production base of Andhra Pradesh to provide fillip to the sector.
