Digital India Drive at Vizag Zoo

Indira Gandhi Zoological Park in Visakhapatnam is on the verge to move into digitalisation. The Visakhapatnam zoo park is the first zoo in the country to initiate the Digital India Drive.

Digital services like e-health, My.Gov.In, Attendance.gov.in, Swachh Bharat, e-education and e-booking are to be started. Free Wifi facility and an upgraded website of zoo park have been launched here on Sunday as part of the Digital initiatives.Reliance Jio is providing free wifi facility to the zoo.
Vice admiral of Eastern Naval Command HCS Bisht who attended the event as chief guest to the event said that "I hope the launching of digital services and website enhances tourist footfall. I also hope a night safari commences in Vizag too".

The new facilities that zoo park is going to commence are E-hospital application to provide animal health services; E-education to provide information regarding history of the park, flora and fauna, wildlife conservation, research,etc,. Learning is made easy with this application; E-booking app to promote online ticket bookings, new arrivals to zoo, amenities, and assistance to visitors; My.Gov.in is a platform to share inputs and ideas on matters of policy and governance; Digi locker facility will provide zoo employees secured access to government issued documents.
To increase the security and surveillance services, wifi technology and cameras are being launched.
